CAMBODIA TREKKING 6 DAYS / 5 NIGHTS

Discover the nature and National Park, visit to the community in Chambok, Phnom Penh capital, Angkor complex, Kulen and Beng Mealea. We walk approximately 72km. The path is a bit rocky and climb, then mostly flat. Great Adventure.

Day 1 – Phnom Penh - Kirirom National Park (Walking 14km)

The day starts with a transfer Phnom Dat Chivit located in Kirirom National Park where walking guide and ranger will brief you on the tour. After water fill and get ready, immediately begin the hiking 2 hours to visit Phnom Dat Chivit. After walking half way through the pine forest on mostly flat, we have a water stop to enjoy the fruits and drinks. We also see the true nature, some of the birds. Then there will be some rocks to the final stop where we have a breath-taking on the peaceful top of Dat Chivit Mountain. It gives us the best view nowhere else to compare in the Kirirom National Park to see all the direction of the park. There usually a couple of eagles flying around as it is probablyy their kingdom. Dinner and overnight at Chambok home-stay to experience rural Cambodia at its most authentic. (L,D)

Day 2: Kirirom-Phnom Penh (6km)

Early morning, sunrise to see some of the birds and walk 45 minutes to the 40 meter high water fall. Enjoy swimming before returning to the homestay for breakfast. Then visit the village life with the representative of the community where we will see the real life of the rural area.  We transfer to Phnom Penh for city tour to visit National Museum of Khmer Arts, Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum known as S21.

Day 3 - Phnom Penh-Siem Reap (Walking 15km) (B,L,D)
Transfer for speedboat to Siem Reap (07h00-01h00). It is one of the interesting boat trip crossing Tonle Sap lake. The boat journey is best from July to February. The boat has air-con, life jacket and toilet. Getting off the boat, begin the walking 15km from Tonle Sap lake on the east side of Siem Reap river through the pagoda, rice field and the village. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 4 – Angkor Complex (25km) (B,L,D)
After breakfast at the hotel. Transfer toe the back road behind Angkor Thom where we begin to walk exploring the Angkor temples complex to visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Phimean Akas, Baphoun, Terrace of Elephant, Terrace of Leper King. After lunch visit the jungle temple of Ta Phrom and extensively explore Angkor Wat, the 7th wonder of the world. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 5: Phnom Kulen - Beng Mealea (12km) (B,L,D)
Phnom Kulen is a sacred place where many Khmers like to hang out in the weekends. However, the attractions are deserted during the weekdays and it is a great treat to discover the “river of a 1000 lingas” and the several Pagoda’s on top of the mountain. After lunch, transfer to visit untouched Beng Mealea temple hidden in the jungle. Beng Mealea is considered one of the best temple because if its own character, charming and peaceful. Overnight in Siem Reap.

My time in Cambodia well exceeded any expectations that I had of the country and especially the organized tour.  Being the only person on the tour gave me an incredibly high level of personalized service by Socheat and several local guides, particularly Rith.  You were both so knowledgeable in all areas of the temples, museums, villages, locals and surrounding areas as well as being personable and very easy to get along with.  It was a pleasure being in your company.  The itinerary covered the regular tourist spots along with many less visited and traveled.  A particular highlight for me was the village stay at Chambok – the happy village life makes you realize that you don’t need material objects to be happy.  The balance between trekking and cycling was perfect and was a much more enjoyable way of getting around with the perfect weather.  I can still taste the jack fruit in my mouth and I’m missing the fish soups every day.

Thank you for such a fantastic trip, I can’t wait to get to Vietnam and catch up with you again in the next 12 months!
