Exploring The Last Secret of Bhutan (15 Days / 14 Nights)

Trip Profile:
Explore the Last Secret of Bhutan on this cycling holiday to experience the Land of the Thunder. Starting from Paro International Airport to Thimphu, the only city and capital of Bhutan. It is worth to visit this Kingdom on the hills while enjoying the scenery, the museum, the people, the villages, the Buddhist temple, experience the foods and more. This 2 week cycling tour in Bhutan is recommended for people who would like to see REAL World by bicycle. experience the charm and magic of one of the world’s most secret countries. Experience beautiful landscape, cycle through evergreen prime forest, pass amazing monasteries and immerse yourself in traditional Buddhist culture.

Tour Itinerary:

DAY 1
Morning arrival to the Land of the Thunder Dragon and in the afternoon we'll visit Paro Museum and one of the major Dzongs (fortress temple).

DAY 2

Short transfer to Thimphu and visit museums and the National Institute for Zorig Chusum. Later ride to Dodina past small villages, farmlands and return to Thimphu.

DAY 3

Today we start climbing to the pass at Dochula, which is known for its spiritual energy and 108 Chortens. After lunch we descend down to Punakha.

DAY 4

Today we take time to explore Punakha visit Punakha Dzong, Chhimi Lhakhang and later ride to Wangdue.

DAY 5

A gentle climb on the road connecting eastern and western Bhutan all the way to Trongsa.

DAY 6

Cycle up to Yontong La pass before we head down to Zungney. Later we climb to Kiki La before descending down to Jakar or Bumthang.

DAY 7

This morning is free for you to explore the city. In the afternoon we visit dzong's and Goemba's that are scattered around the valley.

DAY 8

We ride up to the remote Tang Valley and stay at a private museum and guesthouse.

DAY 9

Today we back track to the main road to Shirtung La at the top of the pass. We have an option to ride down a single track to Ura village or continue on the paved road.

DAY 10

We make our way to Bhutan's highest pass, Thurmshing La at the summit of 3,798 m. Later we ride downhill to our campsite at Sengor.

DAY 11

Our downhill continues to Kuru Chu River from 3,051 m to 579 m before we climb back up to 1,590 m to Mongar.

DAY 12

Another day of ups and downs as we climb to Kori La before we descend down to Drangme Chu River. A a final climb up to Trashigang finishes off our roller coaster day.

DAY 13

We ride up to Yongphu La at 2,544 m before we ride on to a campsite outside Wamrong.

DAY 14

Our final pass comes in at a mere 2,388 m before we descend a total of 3,080 m all the way down to the border town of Samdrup Jongkhar.

DAY 15

We cross the border into India and drive to Guwahati airport.

The altitude range from 1900m, hilly but it is worth to enjoy the scenery.
