Mandalay Full Day Cycling (50km) / Start time: 08h00am

Departure Date: Everyday (Guaranteed Departure with minimum 02 people)

Trip Profile:

Mandalay is the 2nd largest city and the last royal capital of Burma and it was founded in 1857. Most of our cycling tours in Myanmar starts from Mandalay. It has also international airport for flight from Bangkok.

On Mandalay Full Day Cycling, our Burmese cycling guide take people to see REAL lives around Mandalay including the Amarapura, the former capital of Myanmar before moving to Mandalay. Amarapura was founded early than Mandalay in 1783 is bounded by the Irrawaddy river and the ancient capital of Ava.

Tour Itinerary: Amarapura – Sagaing- Mingun-Mandalay (50km)

Meet with our guide to do the briefing & bike fitting. Today your guide will take you on a bike ride to Mandalay’s outskirts. Your first destination is Amarapura, “the city of immortality”. Stop here to visit U Bein Bridge, the longest teak bridge of the world and the bridge spans about 1.2 kilometers in length and offers fabulous views of the surrounding farms and streams. Continue by bike across the Irrawaddy River to Mingun (33 kms/ app 2 hours). Visit the main sites of Mingun beginning with the famous Mingun Pahtodawgyi. This huge brick structure was left unfinished after an astrologer predicted the King’s would die should the temple be completed.

In the 1800s, an earthquake left several large cracks in the structure. Continue your visit at the beautiful white Hsinbyume Pagoda whose distinctive style is meant to resemble the mythical Mount Meru. Then see the Mingun Bell which weighs 90 tons and is considered the world’s largest uncracked ringing bell. Then return to Mandalay by boat. And you will ride back from the jetty to the hotel.
