Sri Lanka Adventure 8 Days / 7 Nights

Trip Profile:

This Sri Lanka Adventure cycling holiday stars in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka to Muthurajawela lagoon bird watching tour by boat, Elephant Orphanage Pinnawala, Cave temple Dambulla, Polonnaruwa archaeological site and Kauwudulla / Minneriya or Hurulu Eco, National Park, and Jeep service, Sigiriya Lion Rock, Anuradhapura archaeological site. The tour finishes in Colombo.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Colombo Arrival
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel in Colombo. Tour Briefing. Welcome Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Colombo / Negombo (40km)
After breakfast cycle to Negombo along the Hamilton canal and Negombo lagoon. We cycle mostly along the ocean road. We make water stop and take bird watching tour by boat in Muthurajawela.
Lunch en route.
Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Negombo / Pinnawala (76km)
After breakfast cycle to Pinnawala.
Lunch en route.
Afternoon visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala.
Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Pinnawala / Dambulla / Polonnaruwa (80km)
After breakfast cycle to Dambulla.
Lunch en route.
Visit the cave temple in Dambulla.
Transfer to Polonnaruwa.
Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Pollonaruwa / Habarana – Sigiriya (57km)
After breakfast visit the archaeological site in Polonnaruwa and continue to cycle to Kaudulla, Mineriya or Hurulu Eco National Park. Lunch en route.
Safari by Jeep.
Transfer to Habarana or Sigiriya.
Dinner & overnight at Hotel.

Day 6: Habarana – Sigiriya / Anuradhapura (72km)
After breakfast. Cycle to Sigiriya. Climb & visit the Lion Rock.
Continue to cycle to Anuradhapura. Lunch en route.
Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Anuradhapura / Colombo (no cycling)
After breakfast visit the archaeological site in Anuradhapura.
Lunch en route.
Transfer to Colombo.
Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Colombo / Airport
After breakfast transfer to airport. Tour Ends.

Level of difficulty & route Moderate This itinerary covers some tarmac routes and some sections along small roads and dirt roads to avoid the busy traffic. Support Fully supported van including spare part, cool box and back up service Group Size Minimum 4 / Maximum 20 Staff Groups of 6 or more, a Cycling Tour Leader, plus English-speaking cycling guide, drivers and assistants. Groups below 5 will be led by our local guide and our local support team. Food All meals are included (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
