Cambodia Enduro 10 Days / 09 Nights (level of difficulty: Moderate to Challenging)
(Angkor Complex, Beng Mealea Indiana Jones, Phnom Penh Capital, Kep, Sihanouk Ville, Cardamom Mountain)

Trip Profile:

This trip starts with a moderate riding to visit Angkor temple complex which is worth to see. There are alot of fun and enjoyable routes around Siem Reap town. Only 3km out of the town we get to the dirt track with pot holes, sand, the ride through the villages, crossing the stream. You will have to get used to our tracks and from section to section, our guides will stop to inform in advance the conditions of the tracks. There are all kinds of road to enjoy including the deep jungle tracks. Then we have free day in between to relax by taking the boat from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh (best from August to April) or land transfer option for the rest of the year. After seeing the bustling Phnom Penh capital to learn the recent history of the Khmer Rouge we head south to the beaches of Kep and Sihanouk Ville and ride more challenging in Cardamom mountain range with higher altitude: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardamom_Mountains


From Phnom Penh we can either do the challenging ride to the start of Cardamom Mountain Range in Kirirom National Park, then to Chi Phat and Sre Ambel and have the beach break at the end OR follow below itinerary depends on the energy and we are flexible. Totally, this trip covers all the attractions, Angkor temple complex, Beng Mealea of Indiana Jones, Phnom Penh capital, the beaches of Kep and Sihanouk Ville and Cardamom Mountain Range.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Angkor Temple Complex (35km)

Today, we explore the temples in Angkor Complex by motorbike on the back road. After getting our Angor pass at the check point, we visit the jungle temple of Ta Phrom, Kravan, Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei, Takeo, Chao Say Tevoda, Tommanon. We ride on the single trails to visit the former capital of Angkor Thom including Bayon, Baphoun, Phimean Akas, Terrace of Elephants, Terrace of Leaper King. Afternoon, we extensively visit Angkor Wat, the 7th Wonder of the World and sunset view. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 2: Siem Reap – Beng Mealea

Today, we ride on the back road through the countryside and the village to visit Beng Mealea temple. This trip will make special as we can escape from the crowded tourists in Angkor complex. After riding 20 to 25km on mixed of back road and dirt road, we arrive at the foot of Phnom Bok for water stop. Then, continue to abandoned temple Chay Srey Vibol temple built around 1100A.D. After the break, we take the trip to Beng Mealea via Wat Preah Bat 4 Than. The last part of the road is sealed but quiet. Visit Beng Mealea temple hidden in the jungle surrounded by its mood 900 meters by 1,200 meters. Beng Mealea is a beautiful, charming temple. It has it own character which cannot be found in any other temple. We can feel very peaceful sitting inside the temple as we can get rid of the many tourists at Angkor area. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 3: Siem Reap – Phnom Penh by private taxi or by boat (available from August to April)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Phnom Penh by private aircon taxi. The journey takes 5 hours but we stop half way for the rest room and relax in Kampong Thom town. There are two interesting things to see on the on the road including the 1000 year old Naga bridge, the fried spiders in Skun town. This place is mentioned in the Lonely Planet where local people catch the spiders from the nearby rice fields. They deep fry the spiders and sell them to both local people and tourists. Day 4: Phnom Penh to Takeo - Kep

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Toul Sleng Genocide Museum known as S21 and Cheung Ek Killing Fields. Then continue to ride on back road and get into small dirt road. Today we ride 70 to 80% off road with nice and easy to see real Cambodia in the countryside, through the villages and the rice fields. We stop to visit Ta Phrom temple, the 12th century temple located in Tonle Bati and the hilltop Phnom Chisor temple built in 11th century. The panaromic view on the hill top is great with the landscape. After lunch, we ride on another dirt road to enjoy the lake view and the countryside before arriving at quiet beach town of Kep. Overnight in Kep.

cambodia_beach_tourDay 5: Kep – Rabbit Island – Sihanouk Ville
After breakfast, we ride to take the boat to Rabbit Island. The boat takes about 30 minutes. Rabbit Island is one of the most beautiful off-shore island in Kep. We spend the day to relax and swim at the beach and enjoy seafood. Afternoon ride to Sihanouk Ville. Overnight in Sihanouk Ville.

Day 6: Sihanouk Ville – Sre Ambel
Today, we enjoy the swimming and relaxing at the beach in the morning. Afternoon ride to Sre Ambel. Overnight in Sre Ambel.

Day 7: Sre Ambel – Chi Phat (Cardamom Mountain)
We ride to Andung Teuk where we take the boat to Chi Phat eco-tourism community base. We have another option where people like more riding than taking the boat. At Andung Teuk bridge, we ride on the dirt road through the sugar cane plantation. Welcome by our local community guide who will explain us about their activities community, eco-tourism base for sustainable development. Then we have to take a bamboo ferry crossing small river to check in our nice eco-lodge with nice garden overlooking the junction of the 2 river views. Overnight in Chi Phat.

Day 8: Chi Phat to ChambokMotorcycle_Cambodia
We wake up with fresh and relaxing rural lives at Chi Phat located in the southern part of Cardamom Mountain Range. After breakfast at the local community restaurant, we have to prepare for another big day of challenging ride including steep hills and river crossing. Be careful for the sleepy rock paths. We have to prepare the robe for taking the bike crossing the river also. For lunch, you have to pack light lunch and energy snack as you can. After the challenging day, we arrive at another community place in Kirirom National Park called Chambok. Overnight home stay in Chambok.

Day 9: Chambok – Phnom Penh
The morning service with another local breakfast. We then, enjoy the ride at the Kirirom National Park first before heading to Phnom Penh. Kirirom National Park is located about 98km from Phnom Penh and been a local tourist attraction. Arrive in Phnom Penh for overnight.

Day 10: Phnom Penh – Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Free until transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Road Surface

This tour mostly follows mixed of dirt road, passing the countryside and the rice field. The back road along the village is small but enjoyable for motorbike, less busy.
